About us

We are a diverse community of people who gather together on Sundays and at other times. Some seek a community to which they can belong. Some seek answers to life’s big questions. For most of us the key reason why we gather is the love Jesus Christ has for all people. The Bible tells us that Jesus’ love was shown by his willingness to give up the riches of heaven, to live for a while among people on earth, and to allow himself to be sacrificed on the cross. He did this so that we, who were cut off from God by our failures, could become members of God’s family and live with him forever.

We don’t claim to be a bunch of perfect people. But because the Bible has been taught faithfully and its teachings followed by us over many decades, God has worked through us to enable people of all ages to experience:

  • freedom from guilt before God and certainty about their eternal future
  • positive changes to their thinking and living
  • a sense of belonging to a loving community
  • practical help and care that has met their needs
  • the joy of helping others inside and outside our church community

Because we find these experiences so valuable, we welcome people from our local community and beyond to join with us in exploring life with Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

(Why we exist)

We exist to honour God by making more disciples

for Jesus Christ and maturing them in the faith

Our Vision

(What we want to be in order to fulfil our mission)

To be a Bible-centred, prayerful, Christian community that is:

  • Growing in love for God, love for one another, and compassion for all in spiritual, physical or emotional need
  • Faithfully sharing the love of Jesus Christ by word and deed in Lalor Park, Kings Langley and beyond
  • Establishing and growing valued partnerships with mission and local community groups

Our Beliefs

At St. Clement’s, we hold to the Evangelical beliefs that are stated in the early Christian creeds and in the Anglican Church's 39 Articles which were developed at the time of the Protestant Reformation. A helpful summary follows:

We believe that:

  • The Bible is the Word of God and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • There is one God who is revealed in three co-existing persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • All of humanity has failed to honour and obey God, and give him thanks as we are meant to and as a result are subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
  • Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  • Jesus Christ died on the cross in the place of sinners taking the punishment deserved by the whole world.
  • Jesus Christ rose from the dead in bodily form.
  • It is only by the work of the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the Gospel that we can turn to God and trust in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sins and eternal life.
  • The Holy Spirit dwells in those who put their trust in Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead.
  • Those who trust in Jesus Christ will share eternal life with him.
